You’re an all-around actress, from theatre to cinema, to mini series and music videos. What does acting mean to you?

For me, performance is an instrument for storytelling. In a way, I can say that I’ve been truthful ever since I was a little girl because I’ve felt the pain of those around me.

Which one of your characters do you love the most?

I love all my girls. Each of the women I’ve portrayed have given and taken, and because of this, I’ll always be grateful. It will always be a privilege.

What was your most beautiful work experience? In films or theatre?

That’s like asking me to choose between my mom or dad!

Was there a particular event or meeting that you think helped propel your success? Also tell us, if you can, about your experience with the David di Donatello.

Well, I can’t ignore my past, so I would definitely say my lead role in The Family Friend by Paolo Sorrentino. From there, everything came and I arrived here today.

I don’t know how to describe The David. The award is beautiful because it’s a recognition. But regarding it, in my opinion, it doesn’t belong only to me, but also to all of the artistic cast and crew members that I worked with. Beyond that, I don’t know. It’s not the icing on the cake. Maybe deep down, I enjoy feeling a bit excluded, like and outsider looking in, watching everyone play.

You’ve played every type of character, but how would you describe yourself in your daily life?

That’s a difficult question! If I knew who Valentina was, maybe I wouldn’t have any doubts. But the doubt is necessary. We say that I have brown hair, brown eyes, and wear size 38 shoes. But there are so many things I need to know, and many things I still need to learn.

What are you working on right now?

I’m on stage right now for a little with the monologue Tuta casa letto e chiesa by Dario Fo and Franca Rame.

What is your favorite Italian city and why?

My favorite city is Sansepolcro because it’s the hometown of Piero Della Francesca and mine too! Your roots are always precious.
